Highlights of Amiga Active CD 2

Here are a few highlights of the first Amiga Active CD. This is only to get you started, the whole CD is packed with useful and entertaining material. These highlights contain a few pointers, but half the fun is in exploring the CD yourself.

The Magazine section

The Magazine section contains files, software and information related to the articles and features in the magazine. When reading an article, be sure to check out any extras on the CD.

Specials this month include an exclusive preview of Nightlong, prepared especially for Amiga Active.

Demos

Read the Demos feature and then "Judge for yourself". This section is a must for all fans of things whirling, spinning and flashing.

Games

Plenty of games for all tastes, from a fast shoot 'em up to a sedate game of patience. Shapeshifter and Fusion users should check out the Mac compatibility list in the Resources drawer.

Graphics

Plugins for ImageFX, the PhotoFolio image cataloguing system and some more anims to use with the Movie Players feature are just some of the things you'll find in this month's Graphics drawer

Hardware

Scanner software, from basic drivers to colour correction software. The Resources drawer contains several hardware guides.

Online

We have new versions of AmIRC, AmTelnet and mFTP. You can also find the PostScript font files needed by IBrowse 2.1. We also have the Myzar GUI, so everyone can now join the Amiga RC5 team and help promote the Amiga name.

This section also contains a searchable Aminet index. The next time you need to search for an archive on Aminet, don't run up your phone bill searching online. Search the index offline and only go online when you have found what you want.

Sound

If you like mods, this is the only place to go. We also have new versions of MPEGA and Play16, probably the two most popular sound players. If you want to make music, have a look as Audio Evolution and 303 Tracker.

Utilities

Something for everyone in here, a varied collection of utilities, including datatypes and Directory Opus

Have a look at the new SimpleFind, ideal for tracking down that file that you know ius somewhere on your hard drive, but you just don't know where.
